Anita Shilton

BSc, MA, CMC, PCC/ACPC, Certified Team Coach

Anita is deeply committed to helping leaders achieve their full potential. She brings 30 years’ experience in change leadership roles in the private, public and non-profit sectors. She served as Executive Director of Partnership Development at the Premier’s Council on Health in the Ontario Public Service, as VP Executive Development at Canada Trust, VP Leadership and Organizational Development at Manulife Financial, and, more recently, as Dean of Continuing Education at Ryerson University.

As a consultant and executive coach, Anita has been retained by CEOs in the health and education sectors, as well as in global organizations. She has provided individual and team coaching and given leadership to system-wide or organizational change strategies; she has led the design and implementation of large-scale culture shifts and leadership development initiatives for both emerging and senior executive leaders.

As Dean of Continuing Education, she had General Management experience, delivered on P&L and exceeded revenue targets annually; built industry-education partnerships, led the development of inter-disciplinary Certificate Programs, and led a successful Quality strategy on curriculum renewal and an Access agenda focused on the successful integration of Internationally Educated Professionals.

Anita has deep experience in and commitment to adult learning—she brings a powerful combination of theory and practice to support organizational values and strategy. Her practice reflects the fact that job rotation opportunities, action learning and other high impact programs accelerate adult learning; that assessment processes for confidential feedback and development planning can maximize performance as well as potential.

Anita has international development project experience in Latin America and Africa; she mentors Internationally Educated Professionals; is on the Academic Quality & Patient Safety Committee of Women’s College Hospital Board; and on the Board of Bridge2Success, an organization committed to ensuring the successful transition of talent to the non-profit sector.
