For more than twenty years, Kathleen has been engaged with organizations across Canada as an external coach and consultant, accelerating leadership and team development. She has built her professional work around the belief that coaching dialogue and customized learning offer a unique platform for reaching higher performance and positive change. Combining business experience with insightful coaching skills, she works with leaders in both public and private sectors, to open up thinking, strengthen awareness, build relationships and expand results.
Fully credentialed as a certified Executive Coach through Royal Roads University, with advanced accreditation through the International Coach Federation and an active member in the World Association of Business Coaches, Kathleen also brings extensive background and training in psychology, communications, change management, mediation and conflict resolution. Bank of Montreal, Bell Canada, Infrastructure Ontario, Law Society of Upper Canada, LCBO, Ministry of Community and Social Services, Ontario Power Generation, OTPP, Samsung, Scotiabank, Suncor Energy, TD Bank, Trillium Gift of Life Foundation, TSX, along with municipalities, Boards of Education and hospitals across Ontario are included among the clients who have utilized Kathleen’s expertise.
Attuned to the business context and goals of each client, Kathleen has assisted in a wide range of situations. Experienced in working with leaders who are preparing for the next level, transitioning to new roles, leading new mandates, as well as those who find themselves bumping into barriers or ‘stuck’ in old patterns, Kathleen’s clients consistently report her success in helping them find new perspective, discover innovative approaches, increase influence and overcome conflicts. Firmly convinced that leaders can’t do it alone, Kathleen also offers an impactful process as facilitator and team coach, enabling leaders to maximize strengths and develop relationships at a much deeper level.
Adept in the use of multiple assessment and feedback tools, including Myers-Briggs, DISC, 20/20 Insight, Firo-B, Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode, Kathleen is also certified as a facilitator with the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) and the Profilor 360 Leadership Suite. She has designed and delivered multiple narrative 360 processes as well, to elicit meaningful feedback aligned with the specific leadership competencies and development goals of each leader. Additionally, Kathleen has designed and delivered a variety of training programs, focused on strengthening abilities to communicate, motivate and coach others.
Added to her experience as an external coach, Kathleen also draws from her previous roles as an internal leader. By way of example, as VP of Organizational Development, Sobeys Inc., Kathleen created strategic plans to support national business process optimization, in collaboration with regional business and HR partners. Facilitating change management processes and coaching senior executives created hands-on experience with the challenges and opportunities leaders face within.
With a strong belief in the importance of community and the value of coaching, Kathleen chooses to offer services on a pro bono basis with not-for-profit organizations, including the Canadian Cancer Society, Food Banks Canada and Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, in order to support their valuable work.
